On the 7th December 2007 Tristan Gooley will set sail from Lanzarote in a

32ft yacht. After 24 days alone at sea he hopes to land at St Lucia and

become one of the only people ever to have both flown solo and sailed

single-handed across the Atlantic.

Steve Fossett is the only other person known to have achieved both feats. He

went missing during a light aircraft flight over Nevada on September 3.

Tristan hopes to use the opportunity of his attempt to pay tribute to this

great man.
