On the 7th December 2007 Tristan Gooley set sail from Lanzarote in a

32ft yacht. After 26 days alone at sea he landed at Marigot Bay, St Lucia and

became the first European to have both flown solo and

sailed single-handed across the Atlantic.

 

Following the tragic death of Steve Fossett,

Tristan is now the only living person to have completed the Double.
